4 Ways To Batch During Your Content Creation for Maximum Quality and Efficiency
One of the biggest reasons people struggle with their marketing is time. And, for sure, it is a commitment, but so is everything in your business and life that matters. When can you ever get amazing results without putting in a little effort, am I right? Now, when most people think of batching, they picture creating a week or a month’s worth of content at once—and we love that approach! But there’s a way to take it even further. Instead of producing everything all at once, you can batch your process into like tasks—planning, creating, and scheduling separately. This approach is even better because it allows you to fully focus on one task at a time, boosting both efficiency and creativity. Whether it’s planning, designing, or writing, breaking down your content production process into batches helps you stay in a flow state, eliminating the stress of constantly switching between unrelated tasks. This is especially important when it comes to your content marketing.
If you’ve ever found yourself staring at a blank page, unsure of what to write or post, then batching could be your secret weapon (of course, second to our Marketing Operating System). And the best part? It doesn’t just streamline your process—it can elevate the quality of your work too.
Batch Content Planning: Start with Strategy
The heart of effective marketing lies in planning. Without a clear roadmap, you’re left scrambling to create content last minute. This means not only will you be at maximum inefficiency but, you'll also likely give up because - who can consistently do things at the very last minute? I know I can't. That’s where our MarketingOS comes in—it’s the ultimate batching system. We deliver a detailed plan outlining exactly what content to create, how often, and where to post it, ensuring maximum results with no guesswork. But if you’re not using our system yet, you can still batch your content planning.
Set aside time to map out your blog posts, emails, and social media content for the next 1-3 months. This is when your creative energy can truly thrive, as you focus on brainstorming ideas and themes. You’re not producing the content yet—you’re creating a blueprint. This way, when it’s time to execute, you know exactly where you’re headed.
Batch Creative Design: Visuals that Flow
Design and copywriting are two very different tasks that require different parts of your brain. For me, creative design is light, fun, and visual. It’s the part where I like to put on some music or listen to an audiobook while I batch-create visuals for social media, blog posts, or email graphics.
Having core templates for your design work can 10x your efficiency. Which is why we include 15 Canva design templates with your MarketingOS and an option to upgrade and ad more. That way, you’re not starting from scratch every time—just tweaking elements for consistency. Batching your design work allows you to stay in that visual, artistic headspace without getting distracted by the written word. Plus, it’s much more fun when you’re not jumping between tasks! If you’ve prepared your templates in advance, it becomes a rinse-and-repeat process that boosts both speed and quality.
Batch Copy: Deep Work, Done Right
Writing, on the other hand, requires deep focus, or at least it does for me. When I sit down to batch my copy, it’s a completely different mindset from design work. And here’s a little secret—I like to batch within my batches.
First, I use ChatGPT to generate a draft for all my content. Whether it's blogs, emails, or social media posts, ChatGPT helps me break through that initial writer’s block and get ideas flowing. After the first draft, I like to step away, take a break, or even wait until the next day to dive into refining.
Once I’m ready to edit, I run everything through Grammarly to ensure it’s polished and clear. Then, I refine and personalize the copy so it truly reflects my voice and perspective. This step-by-step approach allows me to focus on making each piece as impactful as possible without getting overwhelmed by doing everything in one sitting.
Batch Scheduling: Set it and Forget it
Once the content is created, the final step is to schedule everything. This is where you can truly free up your time by setting all your content to post automatically. I use different tools depending on the platform—my website for blogs, Simplero for email marketing, and Loomly for social media scheduling. Though you may have different software, the concept of pre-scheduling works for all of us.
Let’s be honest: this part can feel like a drag. I usually play an audiobook while I go through the motions of uploading everything and setting it up for publication. But here’s the beauty of it—you only have to do it once for the entire batch. After that, your content runs on autopilot. And honestly, this is one of the first things I recommend outsourcing if you’re ready to free up more of your time.
